Low Cost CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea
From Mark Seager, owner of SecondWind CPAP.com:
"I created the business about 5 years ago to help those people that are forced to pay out of pocket. We also have an active donation program for those most in need. We have been working with the American Sleep Apnea Association over the last few weeks in trying to figure out on how we can expand our current [fledgling] donation program.
Most the CPAP and BIPAP machines we offer range between $150-$200.00. These devices have been thoroughly cleaned to eliminate any possibility of cross contamination, and have also been pressure and flow tested, prior to resale."
If you know someone who has sleep apnea and needs a CPAP or BIPAP machine consider this service.

Re: Low Cost CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea
Once again Leslie's List is saving me hundreds of dollars!
I recently was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. Doctor sent the presciption to a local medical equipment company. I told him I was going to shop the price. Sure enough my Blue Cross Blue Shield plan wanted me to pay $1,841 per year out of my HSA. That's my money. The unisured quote was even higher and I tried offering to buy the machine from the Durable Medical Equipment company.
So I ordered the machine from Second Wind and saved $1,371 dollars.
My receipt can then be submitted to BCBS and credited against my high deductible plan. BCBS does have higher contract costs if you use your HSA insurance card. I have always received off card quotes that are lower. So write your own contract with your medical providor for the routine stuff.
